Lately rasa a bit stressed dgn my study...Bukan pasal coursework @ lab....tapi pasal writing research paper. Betul la org ckp, u will only know once u xperienced it. serius letih...banyak benda nk kena buat. rasanya dh over 20 drafts yang aku duk print, betulkan, tambah,buang, kurangkan, letak balik...and all of this utk satu paper je. Mcm2 nk kene buat and of course, bila buat paper ni mmg kene focus.

Rasanya skill multi-tasking mmg susah utk diapply dlm situation mcm ni. Mmg x bole buat benda lain....

Itupun xtau lagi mcm mn kalo dh submit. For a paper to get published, it took quite sometimes jugak...kene undergo banyak step...

There are a lot of things that I have done in the past, which 1) I’m not proud of 2) I regretted so much 3) I wish I could have done better 4) I wish didn’t happen. Imam Al-Ghazali once told his students, the farthest point in our life is the past. There is no way that you can turn back and undo/redo things in the past. Even if you could, you present and future will be strongly affected, could be better or worse. Hence, it is important for you to decide carefully before you take a leap.

Berhati-hati melangkah

Demam - 2 kali dalam masa 2 minggu

In 2 weeks time, dah 2 kali demam. Jarang kene camni. Selalunya nk demam setahun sekali pun susah. Bila jarang sakit, mmg reluctant nk g jumpa doktor. Resolutionnya, makan over-the-counter pil je la - Panadol (demam), dequadin (sakit tekak), actifed (selsema, idung sumbat), ubat batuk Woods (sejak kecik lagi mkn ubat batuk ni...brand lain x jalan), air asam jawa (utk ilangkan panas badan).....

Ramadhan this year come to end. Sedihnya. Seronok sebenarnya berada dalam bulan puasa. For various indescribable reasons, I always wait for this month of year….
“Terdapat dua kegembiraan untuk org2 yg berpuasa…pertama: ketika mereka berbuka puasa (berhari raya) dan kedua : ketika mereka menemui tuhannya”
Puasa adalah satu ibadah yang direct terus ke sisi ALLAH. Puasa kita adalah untuk dia. Pahala-pahala ibadah digandakan. Keberkatan di bulan istimewa ni mmg dpt dirasakan oleh org2 berpuasa dgn ikhlas mengharap redha ALLAH.

Elok jugak untuk tatapan suami-suami, bakal-bakal suami (bekas-bekas suami pun bole)

Alhamdulillah, my video has been chosen as one of the winner in a video-making competition sponsored by NSTP e-Media. The prize? An Apple I-Pod Nano 8GB. OMG! When I received the call, I was speechless (rasa dia mcm masa aku diumumkan Pemantun Terbaik UPM dulu). My full-figure nih rasa ringan….Gravity reading = 0….Happy giler. Yang tak sedapnya, lepas sebulan baru aku dapat surat utk g amik hadiah tu. Hari Khamis lepas lepas kelas, aku g invade Pavilion, heading str8 to Apple EpiCentre. Kembang tangan aku menyambut I-pod yg salesman tu bagi.

Cats – The most innocent creature I ever found. Ever since I was a kid, cat is my companion. Maybe because my parents used to keep a lot of cats in the house. I remember there were about 11 cats of various ages at one time in my house.
However, this species is fighting against brutal human.

Human suppose to be the guardians for all creatures on this earth but it flip 180 degrees. What a shame! and sinful of course. In the hands of human, these creatures suffer, died and even worst - extinct. You name it – Dodo, Tasmanian Tiger, Siberian Tiger and so on.

Let’s get back to cat. History has proven that cat has been a companion to human. Prophet Muhammad pbuh used to have kittens and cats. You must have heard about the little Muizzah, whom Prophet Muhammad pbuh willingly to cut a portion of his robe because she slept on it. Abu Hurairah was nicknamed so (Hurairah literally means kitten in Arabic while Abu means father) because of his hobby keeping a kitten inside his robe pocket. The ancient Egyptian regarded cats as God. If their cats died, they will shave their eyebrows as a respect. And also, upon excavation of tombs around Middle East, engravings, paintings, and statues of cats were discovered. Some of them are made of solid gold!

In my life, I have seen a lot of violence to cat. There was one time when I took a stop at one R&R in Negeri Sembilan on my way back to my hometown. As I walk approach the restaurant, I saw a white cat was walking in front of me. She was so cute and tame. I whistled her and as she stops, I rubbed her head. She responded by meowing and rubbing his body to my hand. Then, I have my lunch at the nearby restaurant. As I walked back to the parking lot, I looked out for her. I found her lying under a table, near a burger stall. To my surprise, her white body was covered in blood and mud. I asked the burger boy, what happen to that cat? He mentioned that she was hit by a car. He also said that the driver didn’t ever care to look back. The cat is still breathing. In pain, she was trying to move with only two of her front leg. She dragged the rest of her body to shift her position into shady area. I guess her waist downwards is paralyzed due to the impact. She’s meowing, maybe praying for her suffering and excruciating pain. I don’t even notice my tears drop. It was one automatic drop. My body shakes and I could no longer wait. I left the place.

Maybe people will say, I am super-sensitive. For crying out loud, it is a life. We are saying about a life. What if it’s the life is yours? It’s irreplaceable!

I dedicated this post to my beloved cats in my life – Kasut (died by car accident while she was pregnant. I can’t erase from my memory the picture of her with blood spraying from her nose), Katak (naturally died, she got different pair of eyes color – one is green, the other’s blue), Chin (died naturally), Belang (die naturally), Bonyot (MIA), Etot (MIA), Udo (died young), Hitam (died to disease), Debu (Siamese-Local cross-breed, died naturally), Putihs (I got a lot of cat named Putih), Tok Me (the most tender cat. She only give birth to one kitten at one time…died naturally)…..and the rest…..Thanks for always being there for me. May the Bless of God bestowed upon all of you.

Of Acquaintanceship and Friendship a.k.a Hell You! I Don't A S***!!!!

The recent development of my social life hustled me to do a deep thinking. Almost a week fighting with turmoil and uncertainties, today I obtained the answer clearly. There’s a fine line between friendship and acquaintanceship. In case you try to cross the line, you have to prepare for the consequences. In my case, it was catastrophic. The fort of trust that I have build just collapsed in a flick of finger. OMG! I wish I didn’t cross the line. It’s like barb wires that scratch your skin deeply. The wounds are excruciatingly painful. Only time and revelation can heal.
I am a person who put positive in front of the negativity when dealing with new situation. I’m so grateful that most of the times, it works. For example, at new workplace, I have no problem adapting with the alien environment. Unfortunately, when it comes to relationship between human, my method is inapplicable. I postulated if we make effort to know someone better, give attention on little details about his/herself might bridge the gap that existed.
I often started by making these peoples comfortable with me. I talked, I gave and shared opinion, I just nodded when they argue. I hope my opinion will matter later. Then, I get to the personal details – the background, the hometown where they grew up, their family, their current situation. I strengthened these basis by physicalizing them. All of these do consume times but I do believe in positive outcomes which I expect to emerge as soon as I leap to the other side of the line.
But, I’m totally wrong. These people never care. They never bother. What am I? A clown? A passerby? A puppet? Or maybe just a pebble?
I’m grateful that I was blessed with numbers of friends. The numbers will multiply if those peoples had agreed to be my friend and I will be happier. Such a waste, but I have to accept the reality that all wishes are not usually granted. I let all the good deeds to be in the hand of God rather than keep questioning.
Please someone help to advise me, should I be more ignorant rather than caring? Should I just be indifference rather than approaching? Should I stop giving and just count my blessings?

I literally mean it. Dlm pantun mmg ada cerita. Of course, it’s hidden and left opened for interpretation. Pantun was a powerful tool in Malay traditional literature and yet it is still are. Pantun is used in daily talks, special ceremony, love letters and songs. Org-org Melayu yang terkenal dengan adab sopan dlm perbualan menggunakan pantun untuk menyampaikan sesuatu yang secara kasarnya akan kelihatan kurang enak jika disampaikan secara terang-terangan. Sebagai contohnya
Letak selasih tepi pelita
Bahang tertujah hingga ke panji
Tinta kasih melakar nista
Bagaimana berwajah selendang janji

Pantun ini merujuk kepada seorang kekasih yang bertanyakan kepada pasangannya tentang status hubungan mereka. Jelas satu pihak telah melakukan satu kesilapan dlm perhubungan tersebut dan satu pihak lagi menuntut penjelasan. Jika perkara ini ditanyakan secara terang-terangan dan melulu, mungkin akan timbul tuduh-menuduh dan menjadikan keadaan lebih keruh. Pantun menjadi wadah. Pantun boleh dibaca dalam intonasi rayuan dan memujuk sekaligus reconcile all the feelings.
I always missed pantun. During free times, I still write pantun . I never realize my interest in this area until one senior at my residential college persuade me to join pantun league at college level. I was skeptical at the beginning but later I discover that it was rather fascinating and wonderful. You’ll learn how to arrange words to make them a beautiful bouquet of pantun

Rosman - Darjah 1 Anggerik SKFK4&5 1990

It was Deepavali. I was on my way back to UPM on this festive holiday. I’m taking the chance to visit my newborn nephew. On that particular Monday, the bus I rode took a stop at Batu Kikir, Negeri Sembilan for a break. I chose one Indonesian restaurant to have a drink. As I was about to take a seat, one young guy approached me.

“Firdaus right?”

“No…Yusof actually….I think you got the wrong pers….Wait! Rasa macam kenal…Rosman kan?”

“Oh Usop…sorry. Yup, Rosman”

“Ya Allah, dah lama tak jumpa kan? Ko sihat?”

“Alhamdulillah”

Rosman took a seat next to me and we continued to chat, revoking all the 17 years memories. A lot to share in this 30 minutes conversation…..

Rosman is my classmate during Standard One back in 1990. I remember Rosman on his first day at school. There were 4 of us at that moment of our acquaintance. I still remember the seat config., I sat next to Mohd Arinun Mohd Alwi, opposite to Mohd Firdaus Mahmud. Rosman sat next to Firdaus. Our parents were around to monitor the first day at school. Rosman parent’s used to run a sundry in their neighborhood. His shop situated just by the roadside on the way to Bandar Tun Razak from my school.

Now Rosman joins the Armed Force.

Thank God I have a considerably good memory. Even after so many years, I managed to recall some details of past events. Wicked!

OMG! Damn! This turmoil hit me again…Ya Allah, berikan aku kekuatan untuk menghadapi semua ni. I’m so afraid. Bukan aku tak yakin, tapi this is my weaknesses and above all, I all left alone to face it. Yes, He’s with me, The Ultimate Sustainer, The Owner of A Man’s Soul. I have confidence in Him.

When this feeling hit me, everything will fall apart. Every single strength that I have worked out will fall apart. This is not the first time. Yeah, my mistake..Not learning from the previous experience. I cant get alert/always ready bcoz this thing is damn unpredictable. I cant keep constantly have my ammo loaded...

I hate this feeling. I dont want to surrender or else my enemy will kill himself laughing.

Wedding.....

Alhamdulillah, Praise be to ALLAH

Yesterday, I attended my best friends wedding. Noted the‘s’ following the friend word and no similar letter proceeding the word wedding. Hmmm so? It means 1) I only attend one wedding ceremony 2) Both bride and groom are best friend of mine from Prep. School - Amir Hasdi and Faizura

Faie was so gorgeous in her Hijau-Pucuk-Pisang wedding dress. The same theme goes for Amir’s outfit. I managed to meet both of them before the Bersanding ceremony took place, to congratulate them on their big day.

Oh ya, not forget to mention the food – Nasi Hujan Panas with Chicken Sambal, Beriyani Beef, Acar Timun and the delicious Acar Buah and Telur Pindang……….and the icy rose syrup….

Goodbye C-PAK....Here I come, UPM

Alhmadulillah, Praise be to Allah, Most Gracious Most Merciful

Finally, I managed to settle all the registration documents as a new employee in UPM. Quite hectic for the past few days, running here and there, filling forms, collecting signatures and approval. At last, I managed to smile yet laugh at myself for being such a clumsy mouse. This is not the first time, but I can’t help it. Such obsessive-compulsive attitude really an eye sore to others but I’m glad I’m doing it. I don’t want things to get half way done yet cause some problem later.

Officially, now I am a tutor in my own alma mater. I was placed at my previous department – Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering. I haven’t yet started teaching as the university now is in semester break.

I received few calls from C-PAK colleagues, asking about some packaging and material projects that I have worked on last time. Glad to help. I wish I could be there to assist them. But, how can so =( . Guys…I really miss you all.

Cang

This is my dearest Cang. Cang is a fox. Musang Pandan type. This species of fox got body odor similar to pandan leaves, recognizable by sweet fragrant smell on its body. Hence, it’s OK if you don’t bath them as they will stay naturally perfumed

Cang was born in my sister’s house back in 1993. I guessed her mother left Cang accidentally. This fox grew up quite fast. Cang fed on milk, fruit and greens. Quite strange eh? Normally we heard fox will hunt for meat (etc chicken) but things work in ways you never expected.

This girl sleep a lot during the day and will be super active as the night falls. She’s quit playful.

You ought to surrender to Mother Nature no matter how. Cang left her cage one night after a male fox help her to escape. In the morning, we found the joint area of the cage’s corner have been torn apart. Maybe it’s time for her to find a partner and start a family. Cang is no longer around but I still miss her.
